300
The comic book 300 is a historically inspired comic written by Frank Miller and painted by Lynn Varley. The Comic was published by Dark Horse Comics between May - September 1998.
The comic is a retelling of the battle of Thermopylae and the events leading up to it.
You are in the perspective of Leonidas of Sparta who is the Warrior King of the Greek city of Sparta.
This Comic book was inspired by the 1962 film The 300 Spartans, a movie the writer watched as a kid. Also quick fact the story in this comic book was adapted into the 2007 film 300.
Basic synopsis of this comic book is that in 480 BC, King Leonidas gathers 300 Warriors to fight the Persian army which was in the millions. The story is so interesting because of the bravery of the 300 warriors they all knew it was a suicide mission but they still continued to fight to stop King Xerxes invasion of Greece. What was most intriguing about the story was even though they lost it was a very close fight with the Spartans almost winning.
